Aids are distributed through the camp

A social empowerment camp was organized under Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana in Bharatpur district by Kumari Pratima Bhowmik, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment. Aids were distributed to Divyangjan and seniors through this camp. The camp was organized by Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India and Bharatpur District Government. Around 1741, beneficiaries were identified to distribute the aids through this camp. Of these, 1,155 were Divyang and 586 seniors. Through this camp, aid worth up to Rs 304 lakh will be distributed to the beneficiaries.

This program was introduced by the government with the aim of empowering the beneficiaries and making them self-reliant. The ministry also continuously works for the welfare of Divyangjan and senior citizens. The equipment provided by this camp includes 110 Motorized Tricycles, Wheelchairs, Crutches, Canes, Walkers, Smart Phones, Smart Canes, Braille Kit, Braille Cane, CP Chair, MSIED Kit, ADL Kit (for leprosy ), hearing aid, prostheses, wheelchairs with commode, stool with commode, knee brace, spine brace, foot care unit, LS belt, silicone pad, tetrapod, walker, glasses and dentures were included.

Aim of National Vayoshri Yojana 2022

As you all know, after the age of 60, the elderly need maximum support. Some old people are supported by their children in old age, while other old people have no support. To support such destitute old people, the central government established the National Vayoshri Yojana 2022. Through this program, free wheelchairs and other aids are made available to elderly people living below the poverty line. • A total of 325 districts were selected for the implementation of Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana.

• Under this program, people living below the poverty line and poor people are provided with living aids such as wheelchairs and other aids free of charge by the central government.

• The devices will be distributed free of charge to all beneficiaries.
• In this case, if an individual has more than one disability, more than one device will be made available to the beneficiary.
• Free maintenance of assisted living tools and equipment for 1 year is provided by Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation.
• Identification of the beneficiaries in each of the districts is done by the state government/UT administration through a committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner/District Collector.
• In each district, if possible, 30% of the beneficiaries should be women.
